Accuracy Class: What the Percentage Actually Means

A gauge rated ±2.5% of full scale on a 0–10 bar dial can be off by up to 0.25 bar anywhere on the scale — fine for a compressor room, not fine for a calibration bench. Commercial-grade gauges (1.6–2.5% accuracy) cover most plant monitoring. Test gauges (0.5–1% or better) are for calibration work, custody transfer, or anywhere a reading has to hold up to audit. Paying for tighter accuracy than the application needs is a common way to overspend on this product.

Material and Media: Getting This Wrong Is the Costliest Mistake

Brass wetted parts and a mild steel case handle compressed air, water, and most non-corrosive fluids without issue.
